What is CNBC Asia Pacific
CNBC Asia Pacific is the Asia Pacific division of CNBC, the recognized global leader in business news, which provides real-time financial market coverage and business information. The network's Business Day programming (weekdays from 5:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m. ET) is produced at CNBC's global headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, N.J., and is widely recognized as the leader in real-time business news and analysis. CNBC primetime and weekends offer broad-based news, business and political talk programming. In addition to being seen in North America, South America and the Caribbean, CNBC United States is also incorporated into CNBC Europe and CNBC Asia Pacific programming.

In Asia Pacific, there are a number of regional feeds including CNBC Asia, CNBC-TV18 (India), CNBC Pakistan (Pakistan), Nikkei-CNBC (Japan) and CNBC Australia. CNBC also has a strategic alliance with China Business Network, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Shanghai Media Group. CNBC’s Asia Pacific headquarters are in Singapore.

The Asia Pacific content starts to air with Asia Squawk Box at 6:00-9:00am (HK/SG time) every business day, and continues with Asia Market Watch at 9:00am-12 noon (HK/SG time). Asia is on air again from 5:00-7:00pm with Worldwide Exchange, which features the first truly worldwide business news program. Worldwide Exchange covers the close of the trading day from Asia, the middle of the trading day in Europe and pre-market action in the United States. The show identifies the big story of the day and monitors its impact in the global markets while also providing live on location reports from key business centres around the world including Shanghai, Hong Kong, Frankfurt, Paris, Brussels, Dubai and more. What does CNBC stand for?
CNBC, per se, is not an acronym. In the beginning, when the dedicated channel was launched by the NBC network in the US, it stood for Consumer News Business Channel. This is no longer in use as we cover issues beyond consumer business news.
